How to navigate a busy life around your core values
Here’s a day in my life as a Head of Communications with a side hustle – Work from Home (WFH) edition!
Before work
– Wake up
– Writing group in Zoom (write LinkedIn post)
– Walk with partner to drop off kids
– Walk home and chat on the way
– Breakfast
During the day job
– Walk to library to avoid procrastinating
– Draft overview of marketing and communications strategy for work
– Team meeting. Broke my headphones and WiFi cut out
– Had 1-2-1 meeting with boss via phone in a coffee shop
– Bought a Belgian bun
– Got new leopard print ear buds
– Co-write draft of comms message for coalition partners
– Walked home
Family life and side hustle
– Said hi to the kids
– Dinner
– Took kids to Brazilian Ju Jitsu
– Read book (24 Assets, Daniel Priestley)
– Career strategy call with 1:1 client
– Recorded “Iesha reflection” for a Career Pivot Pro students
– Writing
– Honey and lemon before bed
– Bedtime
This day included my important relationships, joy, creativity and movement.
I worked from where I wanted with people I like. It reflected my core values.
