Why these tips work for introverts

After recently reflecting and talking to a friend, Ellie, I figured I’ve been essentially paid to build, maintain and develop professional networks in all of the roles that I’ve had since leaving teaching.

Why?

To build influence and create change at all levels of society.

But the way I got those roles is because I built the skills myself before that. I’m only recommending stuff I’ve done myself. Repeatedly. With success.

Introverts and people from working class backgrounds, like me, can build great professional networks. It’s often scary and it takes effort but it can be done and it gets easier over time.

It’s taken me a couple of decades to work it out but I like sharing everything I’ve learnt because people have been generous and helped me throughout my life.

Networks open doors, create opportunity and bring in money. They have for me.
