The power of having a support network

A year ago I was a mess. I handed in my notice with nothing lined up. I was unemployable.

I was sh*t at what I did. I was a failure. That’s what the 3am gremlins told me.

I felt deskilled, burnt out and aimless.

How I came out of the rut

Luckily I had a support network. Madeline McQueen – a sought after international executive coach – called me one afternoon.

I’d been in writing group that morning with her hubby, David, and he was worried about me.

She chatted to me while I cried in my car – snot streaming.

I told her how rubbish I was and she listened. Then she pulled out evidence to show I wasn’t.

She came with receipt after receipt.

Later she gave me impromptu coaching calls. And later in the year when I had run out of savings, she made sure I was able to attend an event she hosted because she wanted me to be in the room with amazing women to create opportunities.

I met Lauralee Whyte at that event – she later asked me to join her speaker agency.

Madeline is an excellent human who champions professional women and helps them see their magnificence.

She regularly runs leadership events and I’d recommend checking them out – use your CPD budget if you like – Madeline’s events are fab! Here’s her website!
